The Image Works continues to grow its collection of historic and early color photographs. We have added color images from 1880 through 1940 to our archive. These images include hand-tinted, hand-colored and digitally colorized images, along with photographs made with the early color processes of Photochrome, Dufaycolor and Autochrome. Some of the subjects include WWI, WWII, the Wright Brothers, historical personalities, the Weimar Republic, the works of Frances Frith, Lewis Hine, and Russian photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii. The Image Works also the largest collection of autochromes -- over 5,000 -- available in a single archive. |

Beginning in December 2006, CandidatePhotos co-founder and photographer Chris Fitzgerald lived in his car, traveling from state to state to photograph the primaries, the candidates, and the people.
